They Eat everything and give you scraps, in your home, in your kitchen from your ingredients, tell you to clean up after they make a mess and tell you to be thankful and grateful for the scraps. I am not against tourism, I just want it to be in the National and Environment Interest of the Nation. I will fight for Tourism as an industry when I am sure of tourism’s total contribution to Social Development and Nation Building. I will fight for tourism when I am sure it exists in the national interest. BUT Ever since tourism was developed as an industry in this country, it has never

Jamaica, The State Of Emergency

Image
I am not a liberal person when it comes crime and criminals. I have no love for criminals and when a person is guilty without a shadow of a doubt I want them to suffer, if we cannot rehabilitate them. When it comes to criminals I have a Punisher like revenge mentality. I sometimes talk about taking them to the back of the fowl shed and end them. I believe the laws of the land and people around me must be respected. As much as I hate criminals, I hate the idea of innocent, law abiding people being treated like criminals. I cannot think of anything worse that having a respect for one’s self, respect for people around you, respect for society and a respect for the law of the land. To study hard, work hard and then for no reason at all, end up being treated like a damn criminal, being punish for a crime you did not commit. I would not want that happen to me. Therefore, I get so upset when a person tells me that black people are treated differently under the law because some o

Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ) or Privy Council of the United Kingdom

Image
If Jamaica had a referendum today, on adopting the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ) and on becoming a Republic, I would gladly vote YES on both counts . The UK and the British Monarchy to me serves no purpose to our daily lives, it contributes NOTHING to our daily lives. Which is why, I am at a lost as to why we are still the Monarchy of Jamaica and have the Queen to the Right of Jamaica as Head of State. Every now and then one of those useless Royals stop by for a wave, put on a Rasta wig, act the fool and dance around and as a result, some idiots in Jamaica feel privileged for the little Royal attention and I wonder why. The Commonwealth is a useless and worthless organization. The Commonwealth adds no economic or social value or benefit to our lives and if it did not exist tomorrow nothing would change. YET we dance around these useless colonial institutions as if our lives depend on it. AND I WONDER ...WHY? I am thinking that, after 300 years or slavery and colonization we are

Tag Team Chicken Fight - Free Range Chickens

Image
A rule change under the Obama Administration, required egg producers using the label “USDA Organic” to provide real outdoor space for hens, rather than enclosed porches. The Trump administration just reversed that. The only animal I feel comfortable farming are Chickens and that is because I grew up farming Chickens. It was my responsibility, to make sure they were fed and watered and to make sure they were safe and sound in their coops at nights. In the mornings before heading out to school it was my job to let them out of the coop, then feed and water them. The reaction you get in the mornings as you walk towards their coop is second to none, as they started going crazy with anticipation of being let out, to run free. Feathers fluffed and shake, some run for a dirt or sun bath, others run around flapping their wings, taking brief flight. Then after a while the hens would go back in one by one to lay their eggs. Animals need to roam, to feel free to forage for food. Happy hens wi

The Alternate Universe with Stan The Man and Jack King Kirby

Image
I spent a lot of my childhood living in an Alternate Universe. Whenever I was sad, had a fight with my sisters or could not get my own way or just wanted to be alone, I would escape into my Alternate Universe. Much of who I am today, my sense of right and wrong of justice, I developed while living in my Alternate Universe where the lines between good and evil was almost always defined. My Alternate Universe, was the comic and cartoon world and the men who help shaped that world was ๐’๐ญ๐š๐ง ๐‹๐ž๐ž ๐š๐ง๐ ๐‰๐š๐œ๐ค ๐Š๐ข๐ซ๐›๐ฒ. The heroes fighting the villains to protect simple people and the world. It was not only the heroes who helped shaped my outlook of life, but also the villains. The hero was only as good as the villain he or she defeats. The more powerful the villain the more powerful and resourceful must be the hero. My love for cartoons went hand in hand with my love for comics and I spent most of my lunch money buying comics. I had a very large collection and swapped

My Grandmother on My Mother’s Side

Image
My Grandmother on my mother’s side was of Indian origin. Neither her or my Grandfather on the Mother’s side came from money and in fact they were very poor. I learned more from my Grandparents on my Mother side, as opposed to my Grandparents on my Father’s side. They came from money and when they needed something they simply just buy it. But when my Grandparents on my Mother side wanted something they either go without, make due with what they have or use their hands and make it (tun yu ann, mek fashion). My Grandparents on my Mother side, were the most imaginative and innovative people I have ever met. If you put them in the middle of a barren desert they would have it growing food in the matter of months. These days whenever I need to solve a problem or going through hard times, it is My Grandparents on my Mother side who I draw strength from. To be honest when I was younger I never really appreciated her but now, not a month goes by without them running across my mind and often

Jamaica, Island of Pride, Power and Resistance

Image
Cheo Hodari Coker Executive Producer of Luke Cage was asked in an interview about why he selected and featured Jamaica in Luke Cage, he described Jamaica as and I quote "Jamaica has always been the island of Pride, Power and Resistance ". He went on in details to describe the historic progressive position of Jamaica and Jamaicans on this planet. For such a small country we have been known to punch above our weight and a lot of people throughout our history see that as a threat. Take for example Haiti, they were a symbol of Pride, Power and Resistance, the first country to gain their independence but Haiti was never allowed to succeed and how could it, when it represented a threat to the white power structure. Time Index: 6:05 The other day a prominent member of the political class spoke out about the racist right wing movements happening in the UK, EU and USA and how Governments of those countries are implementing racist policies to appease racist people and some peop

Foreign Educated Bubble Headed Technocrats - Comparative Advantage and Free Trade

Image
One of the country’s top Economic adviser is advocating that we should do away with Food Security and open the flood gates to imports. This is what happens when we buy into the theoretical Economic Principles. We all understand the concepts and principles of Comparative Advantage and Free Trade but the devil is in the implementation. What happen to countries with too few Comparative Advantage? How do they survive or even afford imports even if it is cheaper. This leading Economic Adviser is advocating that we should not be too concern with Local Production and Food Security because protecting Local production will increase the cost of living and lower the standard of living. What he failed to realize is that without local production, we would not have local employment, unemployment would increase. Local Production increases employment and increases wealth distribution and without employment and wealth we would not have the money to even buy cheaper imports. This is why I call them

Jamaica, The Concept of Yard and Yardie

Image
Such a shame because we invented the term and concept of Yard and Yardie to mean something wholesome and comforting. It was invented out of love for our Nationality, Island and people. In Jamaica the term yard is used to identify a place of safety and comfort. You are out on the road and something happened and the first thing that comes to people’s mind is “Mi A Go a mi Yard, cause a pure almshouse out yah” so we retreat to the comfort and safety of our beloved yard… “hey that is why me stay a my yard more times” ...because bad things always happen outside of your yard. Then Jamaicans travelling started identifying each other in that comforting manner, “hey yu a Yardie?” was all its takes for the conversation and familiarity to start to flow. After a while everyone wanted to be a Yardie, even people who were not from yard and had no connection to yard started pretending to be Yardie, because it was cool to be a Yardie. I have been in some remote faraway places only to hear som
