65% Of Jamaicans Aged 25-54 Have No Examination Passes at Secondary Level NO NATION BUIDING CAN TAKE PLACE WITH THIS! Dumber than a bag of Rocks. There was a time when we pride ourselves on academic achievements making up for lost times during slavery and colonization, when we were denied education.  In the 1970s Jamaica made a big push to educate as much of our citizens as possible because no nation building can take place without an educated population. Back then the increased earnings from the Bauxite Levy which boasted Jamaica's earnings from US$23 Million to US$195 Million, allowed Jamaica to implement a system of free education and free adult education (JAMAL). The problems affecting black people are complex, but a lot the problems affecting black people are also self-inflicted. Which makes the solutions to a lot of these problems very complex. Our problems are not just Black and White but Black, White, Brown and everything else in-between. Multiple causes with multiple effects and multiple solutions.   We all know the part Institutionalized Systemic Racism plays in creating this dysfunctional state within the black communities. The Question of Class? What is Class? Is it based on wealth or behavior? I think many people are confused with the concept of class within the context of Jamaica’s Unique Reality . The British concept of class and the Jamaican concept of class are totally different. The British concept of class is based on inherited status and wealth that is handed down from generation to generation and is ingrained within the British gentry/nobility based society. Emerging from over 300 years of Slavery, Colonization and Subjugation, the Jamaican concept had no generational inherited wealth and status and as such Jamaica had to redefine the concept of class. I do not like crime or criminals but I understand certain crimes and criminals. I understand gang violence and I understand financial related crimes. I do not like it and do not want any crime or criminality around me but I can put certain crimes into perspectives. Up until now on hearing a report of a crime against some person, I would say, "something in a something". A person got caught up in some under the table, dodgy dealings with the wrong person and met some sort of retribution as a result. However, when it comes to crimes against children and old people, I am at a lost because I do not understand it and I cannot frame it into context or perspective.
