The American idealism was always fictional, but many have been brainwashed to believe otherwise. The truth is the USA is more dysfunctional than other developed countries and just as dysfunctional as some underdeveloped countries and at the rate they are going, things will only get worse! No country is fully functional, some however are more functional and more progressive than other countries.  There has been a dumbing down of the American population because it is easier to control stupid people. The problem gets even worse when dumb people are electing dumber politicians to rule over them. To throw fuel on the fire, the USA then arm the dumb down population with as much weapons of death as they can buy. Now how do you think that is going to end? Growing up in Jamaica, we were brainwashed into believing the USA system of Government, Constitution and laws was superior to any other system on planet earth. The average Jamaican knows more about the US Constitution and Bill of Right than they do about the Jamaican Constitution. It is not uncommon for them in a debate to quote the US constitution as if it was the Jamaican Constitution. An American tried to explain to me that Obama being President of the United States of America proves that the USA is not a racist country. In 2012 Obama won 65,915,795 of the popular vote with 60,933,504 voting against. I believe that racism has gotten worse in America because a black man became president. There is nothing like the feeling that you are losing control, losing your position of power and status in life to push a person to over compensate for that perceived feeling of lost of power and status.
