Jamaican Till I Die!

When it comes to reporting on the UK, all our Local media outlets have failed the Jamaican people. Take Brexit for example, it is amazing how we managed to report on Brexit without highlighting the daily racist hate mongering and hate crimes happening in the UK. Our Local media continue to make the British look civilized and the Jamaican people uncivilized. Our local media and the UK media have no problem reporting on the nasty underbelly of the Jamaican society while selectively reporting on the UK society. I will never understand why our local Jamaican media reports on the United Kingdom the way they do, with blinkers on and very selective trying to shape hearts and minds to become Anglophiles. I know for a fact that if the British media does 10 news reports on the Jamaican society then 9.5 of those 10 reports will be very negative and extremely disgusting. I do not like crime or criminals but I understand certain crimes and criminals. I understand gang violence and I understand financial related crimes. I do not like it and do not want any crime or criminality around me but I can put certain crimes into perspectives. Up until now on hearing a report of a crime against some person, I would say, "something in a something". A person got caught up in some under the table, dodgy dealings with the wrong person and met some sort of retribution as a result. However, when it comes to crimes against children and old people, I am at a lost because I do not understand it and I cannot frame it into context or perspective. The problem with humanity is that we think we are going to live forever. We think there is either life or consciousness after death. Why else would delusional people go on and on about the future of their Race or their Religion. Some even feel good about having 72 virgins waiting for them after death. As if, after death, your race, religion or willy will have any meaning or relevance to your rotten, decomposed dead self. Human life is very short, the average human lifespan is only 79 years, 3 score and 10 and most of us will not live long enough to reach even that. Jamaica is not a powerful country on this planet, we are not the movers and shakers off this planet and we have our fair share problems being a small, developing third world country with a history of slavery, colonization, subjugation and political tribalism. I love the people from other countries who take the time out of their lives to get to know us, to understand us and to love us for who and what we are, many of whom call Jamaica home and have joined the nation building process. In 1988 during Hurricane Gilbert it was report that some white-tailed deer escaped and ran off into the Blue Mountains. Since then the deer population has increased and it is reported that some farmers are complaining that they are eating their crops. " The deer population explosion, as some people are describing it started when a number of the animals escaped from the Somerset Falls property in Portland during the devastation caused by Hurricane Gilbert in 1988. These animals fled to the wild forests of the surrounding Blue Mountains, and now there are reportedly hundreds of them roaming the region."
