The Lack of Progressive Leadership in our Dysfunctional Society

AFRO-SAXON A person of African descent who identifies closely with English or Anglo-American culture and value

It is safe to say, that members of our political class, as well as, the movers and shakers of the Jamaican society, either cannot or is unwilling to see the forest for the trees when it comes to nation building.

I have no idea what problems members of our political class are trying to solve or even if they are trying to solve any of our problems. I have been on planet earth long enough to know that not much solving has taken place. In fact, in some vital areas of our society and economy, we have changed for the worst. I have been alive long enough to know that the rhetoric of change, does not match the implementation of change and have no intention of matching. That is because we have leaders and stakeholder are comfortable with the status quo and comfortable with the human suffering around them. To our leaders human suffering is a means to an end, to power and control. They lack the desire, will power, vision, imagination, and innovation and on top of that they are all consumed with greed, selfishness, and their own self-importance.

It seems our home grown AFRO-SAXONS leaders are in the business of trying to maintain the colonial status quo, which affords them maximum control, power, and wealth. It has been several decades since any members of the political class came up with any revolutionary way of Nation Building. There has been very little progress in our society, nothing to take us to the next stage of development. Development does not mean building tall buildings with flashy lights, you dullards. I will go even further to declare that the people who should be leading us, are comfortable with our lack of real progressive development, comfortable with the high levels of poverty, crime, and human suffering. Just watch them when election time comes around. Each one finds the most suffering ghetto to parade their oneness with the suffering people, who are nothing but voting fodder.

The Politicians can do what they do, because they have the people right where they want them - stewed to a high level of Ignorance and Dumb Down Perfection. One cannot build a Progressive Society without progressive people. Progressive Societies are built by progressive people, who drives the members of the political class to implement progressive solutions. One cannot leave Nation Building to members of the Political Class, just like one could not leave the slave masters to implement a system of fairness and development which includes the slave population. Why would the slave master want to change the status quo when they were already in a perfect position?

The fact is, Nation Building is not up to the political class or the slave masters for that matter. It can only come about because of a change in mass social consciousness of the people. After which, it is the progressive society that produces progressive leadership and forces the members of the Political Class to make progressive changes to society but in Jamaica we are missing that connection.

PRELIMINARY numbers by the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) have shown 1,463 murders committed across the island last year. This was 132 or almost 10 per cent above the murder total for 2020.

What we have is a dysfunctional society too misguided to act progressively in any cohesive way and the stakeholder of our society are comfortable with the status quo. In fact, this status quo is preferred by them and their crab in a barrel mentality. Most of our educated class are not part of the Progressive Class, they want nothing to do with it. They are members of the selfish, greedy Materialistic Class. Too consumed by their own self-importance to care about Nation Building. So long as they get what they want, so long as their lives are OK, they could not care less about anyone or anything else. However, they love to talk the talk because they believe that is how they are supposed to act, it is a part of their Pretentious Public Profile Persona in the Social Media, Matrix like Universe. With their online petition and Ted Talks, trying to show just how first world they have become. As far as I am concern, the only thing sustainable in Jamaica is ignorance and greed!

"Addressing a query by The Gleaner about incarcerated dancehall deejay Vybz Kartel’s recruitment in promoting the COVID-19 jab, Prime Minister Andrew Holness did not rule out the entertainer’s possible involvement in rallying Jamaicans."

There is a reason why some people say “The End does not Justify the Means” and that is because the means is creating a much bigger problem compared to the short-term end. When the Prime Minister of Jamaica stand up before God and mankind and declare that he is OK with declaring a Convicted Murderer, a criminal as a brand ambassador and a role model for COVID vaccine, then as a society we have failed.

This is sending a message that will negatively affect our society for a very long time to come. The message the Prime Minister is sending to young people is that murder and criminality is not only OK but an accepted part of our value system. Why not break out all the criminals and give them keys to the city.

Prime Minister Andrew Holness is declaring to the world that he is a man without morals, principles or values and he will do anything, say anything to achieve the end. In some society they would declare they do not negotiate with terrorist but in Jamaica we employ them even when they are serving a sentence for murder.

One cannot commit disgusting and dysfunctional acts, even if purportedly done in the name of a noble cause. The prime minister has bestowed upon the convicted murderer Vybez "World Boss" Kartel, a Godlike status and the young people will see this and aspire to be him. All I have in life are my Principles, Morals and Values and I will never betray them.
