Jamaica's Narcissistic and Self-Serving Politicians


There was a time when Jamaica would honor our nation builders long after their contribution to nation building. As a nation we would look back on their contributions, evaluate the historical facts and decided if they were worth honoring. Leaving it up to future generations to decide if their body of work and their names are worth remembering. So, they could use them as nation building role models for generations to come.

Today’s generation of politicians are narcissistic, entitled and self-serving just like the people they serve. They are consumed by their own self-importance and self-interest and are not about to let future generations be the of judge them. By defining their legacy by their actions and contribution to Nation Building. They are very happy pinning the medal on their own chest and patting themselves on the back.


The current Jamaica Labour party Government is no exception. They are moving at great speed, slapping their names on everything in Jamaica that is nailed down. Every time we turn around, they are putting their names on something, tagging everything across the land. But who give them that right? I would have thought we had a select bipartisan committee with civilian stakeholder, to take recommendation and decide if they are worthy of such honour.  

Politicians are just hired hands, employed to do a Job. They get paid big money plus all the perks of full access to the public’s purse but that is not enough, and we are allowing them to slap their names on everything, did they spend their own money on it? NO, they use the Taxpayers money to do the job they promised to do, and the job we hired them to do and then they put their names on it. I employ my gardener to cut my lawn but there is no way I am naming my lawn in his honor for doing the job he promised to do, and I pay him good money to do.

It seems to me the more freedom and education Jamaicans get, the less Nation Builders they become and the more selfish, self-serving they become.

Techniques for Sharing your Sky Juice at School

There are lots of things going on in this picture, that brings back so many memories of primary and high school in Jamaica. Here you have the sharer, the owner of the sky juice generously sharing his drink with the Sharee, aka the beggar-drinker. The Sharee the one the sky juice is being shared with, is not allowed to touch the sky juice in anyway. In fact, his hands should be by his side and if that was me, I would stop sharing my sky juice until he follows the rules by lowering his right arm and keep it by his side. I had my Sky Juice grabbed by my friend and he drank the lot before I could get it from it. After which everyone laughed their heads off at my expense.  Notice the intense look on the face of the owner of the sky juice, the sharer, while he monitors the drinkers suction and content extraction abilities. Heroes and Nation Builders of Jamaica
